ABOUT

With support from OSPI, the WASA Special Education Director Academy has been developed to support those who have administrative responsibilities to Special Education. 

COMMITMENT
• Meeting participation
• Academy evaluation participation
• Travel and housing expenses, if applicable

SESSION MODULES 

Planning is underway for the 2020–21 academy. Session modules will cover various topic such as:

• Understanding state and local priorities
• Leadership skill development including building strong relationships with others
• Communication skill development
• Effective strategic management skills including organizational skill/structures
• Fiscal management
• Laws regarding students with disabilities
• Serving students with disabilities in a remote learning environment
• Supporting students with disabilities in inclusive settings
• Emerging issues

REGISTRATION

Registration will open in August. In the meantime, if you would like to join the academy, mark your calendar now to save the dates posted above.

There is no registration fee and clock hours will be provided at the conclusion of the last academy session.
