This informative session is specifically designed for school leaders in the six districts that are currently in Binding Conditions as well as the 14 additional districts OSPI has marked as being in a “Financial Warning” status. However, it is also open to anyone interested in learning more about this topic. The focus will be on how to communicate about Binding Conditions — a process many districts face when financial constraints require state oversight. Attendees will learn how to explain these complex issues to both internal and external audiences in a timely, transparent, and solution-focused manner. There will also be time for Q&A and dialogue amongst attendees. The Chief Financial Officer from OSPI, T.J. Kelly, will also be in attendance and available to answer questions.

• Communicating Complex Financial Realities: Learn how to break down the causes and implications of your district’s financial position in clear, relatable terms that build understanding and trust.
