Additionally, Novak Educational Consulting has worked directly with state departments of education in Ohio, Minnesota, Hawaii, Wisconsin, Arizona, California, and Massachusetts to provide professional learning on UDL, inclusive practices, and the development of research-based multi-tiered systems of support. Dr. Katie Novak
Katie Novak, Ed.D. is an internationally renowned education consultant and a practicing leader in education as an Assistant Superintendent of Schools at the Groton-Dunstable Regional School District in Massachusetts. Dr. Novak has 16 years of experience in teaching and administration, an earned doctorate in curriculum and teaching, and is the author of five published books, including the best-selling education book, UDL Now!. Katie designs and presents professional learning opportunities both nationally and internationally focusing on implementation of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), and universally designed leadership. Novak’s work has been highlighted in many
publications including Language Magazine, Motherly, ADDitude Magazine, Commonwealth Magazine, AMLE Magazine, the Huffington Post, ASCD Education Update, and School Administrator.
Dr. Novak will be responsible for developing all module content and protocols for this project and providing review and recommendations based on data collected, allowing for the development of an MTSS and UDL Action Plan.
Lindie Johnson is a 15-year veteran of business, analytics, and operations in the education industry. Throughout her career, she has played roles in marketing and business analytics, communications, design, and project management. Prior to joining Novak Educational Consulting, she served as the Director of Marketing for a non-profit quasi-public organization that provided low-cost education financing solutions, and free college planning and financial aid planning assistance to
Lindie is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Novak Educational Consulting and oversees all project management, analytics, design, and, communications. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Brown University and a graduate certificate from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).
Lisa Bosio, M.Ed.
Professional Development Provider and Course Instructor
Lisa Bosio has been a passionate educator for over 18 years with one goal: to equip and empower teachers to invest in and impact the whole child, academically, behaviorally, socially and emotionally. Lisa graduated from California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo) and holds a multiple subjects credential with an English Authorization and an M.Ed in Teaching and Curriculum. Lisa has extensive experience as a classroom teacher, master teacher and district instructional coach. Currently, she is a full-time Induction Mentor, supporting and teaching new teachers in the Sylvan Union School District in California. Lisa is also a Consulting Partner with two universities, Western Governors University and Teachers College of San Joaquin in California, and designs coursework focused on the implementation of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and social emotional learning. She is also an Adjunct Professor
in a teacher preparatory program at the Teachers College of San Joaquin. Lisa thrives on long term professional development relationships and fostering growth in teachers as they optimize the outcomes of all their students.
